The Renaissance NudeShowing some skin, the Royal Academy of Arts presents The Renaissance Nude, an exhibition examining the origins of the nude. Bringing together works by artists such as Titian, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Durer and Cranach, the exhibition reveals how drawing the human anatomy from life inspired some of the most renowned 15th and 16th century masterpieces. This was a time when the nude was transforming Christian art, as demonstrated in this display which includes full-scale paintings, miniatures, bronze statuettes and anatomical studies. See how the idealised beauty contrasts with the ageing body, and public images compare with more intimate works.
