Dominic ('McNulty') West, Miranda Raison and Laura Donnelly star in Jez (Jerusalem) Butterworth's bewitching story, The River, at the Jerwood Theatre upstairs at the Royal Court. If the pairing of the actor from hit US series, The Wire, and the man behind the award-winning West End show, Jerusalem, were not excitement enough, that feeling of anticipation will only be heightened by the fact that tickets for each show are only available on the day. Because The River is being staged in small upstairs theatre, which seats around 85 people per performance, tickets are being sold online at 9am and are also available to those prepared to queue available from 10am. From 18th October, please form an orderly line. Ian Rickson, who directed Jerusalem, reunites with Butterworth once again for this drama which begins in a remote, clifftop cabin on a moonless night.
About Royal Court Theatre
Dedicated to putting on new work and discovering new voices, the Royal Court Theatre was seen as 'the most important theatre in Europe' by no less an authority than The New York Times. In 1956 it staged John Osborne's Look Back in Anger - a landmark in modern British drama - and the Sloane Square theatre has continued to produce work of an equally high standard, with numerous productions making a successful transition to the West End.
