After a lengthy romance leading back to undergraduate days, Prince William and Catherine 'just call me Kate' Middleton are finally getting married. A celebratory Bank Holiday has been arranged so that all the Queen's subjects can join in the fun. When Charles and Diana married in 1981, two million people lined the route from St Paul's Cathedral to Buckingham Palace, but the subsequent details of their grisly marriage might have dented the nation's appetite for a fairytale royal wedding. Nonetheless, millions of people will be watching William and Catherine say 'I do' live on television, and many thousands will venture into the centre of London just for the spectacle of the procession. If you're not one of the lucky few to get inside Westminster Abbey (100 golden tickets are being issued in the post in a Willy Wonka-style wheeze), the best places to ensure a good view are along The Mall by Admiralty Arch and anywhere along Whitehall. Be sure to take a sturdy box to stand on for a better view.About Westminster Abbey
Elizabeth I, Mary I, Mary II, Edward the Confessor, Edward I, Edward III, Edward VI, Henry III, Henry V, Henry VII, James I, George II, Richard II, Charles II and William III are buried in Westminster Abbey. And there's some speculation over whether the remains of Edward V (murdered by Richard III?) is among the 17 monarchs who rest here - DNA testing has proved inconclusive. More about Westminster Abbey
