The Snail And The Whale: Tall StoriesA favourite with young readers, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's picture book, The Snail and the Whale about an unlikely pairing and an incredible journey, comes to life on stage. The live version is brought to the stage by Tall Stories who have already successfully adaptated Donaldson/Scheffler books The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom for the stage. In this latest adaptation a small snail has a big adventure when it hitches a ride on the tail of the whale. They weather stormy seas, meeting sharks and penguins along the way. And the little snail proves to be a hero when its snail trail writes a message which saves the whale. An enchanting book by the former Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson with beatuiful illustrations by Axel Scheffler. Recommended. The UK tour begins here at Jacksons Lane on 7th September before moving on to the Rose Theatre in Kingston on 11th September and then arriving at St James Theatre for the Christmas period from 10th December 2013 to 5th January 2014. Ages 4+
