The Ugly SistersProviding an alternative take on the fairytale Cinderella, this RashDash production is from the perspective of supposed villains The Ugly Sisters and casts a light on media representation. When the sisters, Emerald and Pearl, have to move in with their strange new stepfather, they are cast aside as all eyes are on their perfect stepsister. So, when they are chosen to appear on the reality television show, You Shall Go To The Ball, they attempt to win the love of their mother, Prince Frederick and the rest of the country. Influenced by the Object report in 2011 that came after the Leveson enquiry, this cabaret show highlights objectification and sexism in the media.

About Soho Theatre

The Soho Theatre Company was formed in 1969 by Verity Bargate and Fred Proud, but it didn't have a permanent home until 2000, when its current Dean Street location opened. This modern space was the first theatre to be built with National Lottery money. More about Soho Theatre
