On 14th November 1922, the BBC broadcast its first transmission, a momentous event marked 90 years on by the Science Museum which displays part of the '2LO' transmitter originally located in Marconi House. Before each show the presenter would announce, 'This is 2LO, London Broadcasting Station calling!' Though the 2LO transmitter was replaced in 1925 it continues to symbolise the excitement and creativity of the early days of broadcasting. Visitors to the exhibition can also see the Babble Machine which explores the sound of early radio.
