The Way Back HomeOliver Jeffers's enchanting book, The Way Back Home, is brought to life though Joanna Lee's opera for families and children aged between 5 and 8 years old in this delightful introduction to the magical world of opera. The perfect family treat this Christmas, English National Opera perform the story of a boy who, on discovering an aeroplane in his cupboard, flies off towards the stars in search of adventure at the Young Vic. Created by Katie Mitchell and Vicki Mortimer, the pair behind the National Theatre's acclaimed stage adaptation of Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat, The Way Back Home is an exciting co-production and ENO's first ever show for children.

About The Young Vic

Knocked together out of breeze blocks for a minimal budget in 1970, Lawrence Olivier's experimental theatre was intended to last for five years, and provide an inspiration for the new generation of performers. But this was an experiment that worked and, years later, the Young Vic remains south London's premier venue for the contemporary, the shocking, the controversial, and the bizarre.
