The iTunes Festival 2012

The iTunes Festival takes over the Roundhouse this summer with a free gig every night throughout the whole of July. In the past the festival has had some stellar line-ups, including epic stadium rockers Coldplay, US rock legends Foo Fighters, British songstress Adele, Welsh trio Manic Street Preachers and American soloist Bruno Mars; the list could go on. Last year saw 62 bands over 31 days in the iconic Camden venue, which provides the rare opportunity to see these headliners up close and personal for an intimate affair. To get everyone guessing and excitement levels to the maximum, performers are announced gradually nearer to the time of the event. Tickets are free but to apply you must enter a competition by going to the festival's official website (www.itunesfestival.com) or special Facebook page. You can apply for as many gigs as you like. But don't fret if you don't manage to win because each performance will be recorded and sold exclusively on iTunes after the event. It's worth keeping tabs on the Roundhouse website because last year's festival included many impromptu splinter events, such as a surprise performance by Amy Winehouse; which in fact turned out to be the last public appearance for the controversial singer/songwriter.
