ABOUT IMAGES
The 19th London Lesbian and Gay Film FestivalDedicated to promoting sexual diversity and queer visibility in cinema, this festival goes from strength to strength. Twisted erotic thrillers like Tiresia (France, 2003) mix with films like Rebel Without a Cause (US, 1954) and Bride and Prejudice (UK, 2004): not actually gay, just camp as a row of tents. There are serious documentaries of oppression and repression around the world, as well as sophisticated art movies, literary adaptations, and light-hearted comedies, including Kyle McLachlan in the delicious Touch of Pink (Canada, 2003).

The movies are on display throughout the country, but the National Film Theatre, Odeon West End and Institute of Contemporary Arts will, as usual, be showing the bulk of the movies. As in recent years there’ll be debuts for flamboyant, big-budget features as well as the usual independents, documentaries and soaps.
