The Real ThingThe Real Thing at the Rose Theatre Kingston takes a humorous look at love and infidelity. Laurence Fox (best known for his role as DS James Hathaway in detective drama Lewis) stars as Henry, a man of 40 going through what could well be called a midlife crisis, having left his marriage for a woman and not knowing if it's the real deal. Written by Tom Stoppard, The Real Thing is thought to be a thinly veiled self-portrait referring to Stoppard leaving his wife Miriam for Felicity Kendal, who appeared in the first production of the play. This revivial of a multi-award winning modern classic is directed by Stephen Unwin, Artistic Director of Rose Theatre Kingston for the past five years.

About Rose Theatre Kingston

The Rose Theatre, Kingston is an 850 seat venue ideally suited to Shakespeare which opened in 2008 in the centre of Kingston Upon Thames. The design of the auditorium took its inspiration from the Rose Theatre, an Elizabethan structure situated on London's Bankside. More about Rose Theatre Kingston
