A wealthy philanthropist plots revenge on the friends who snub him when the money dries up in Shakespeare's provocative drama. Nicholas Hytner directs Simon Russell Beale in the title role as part of the World Shakespeare Festival. This staging of Timon of Athens is also part of the Travelex Tickets season at the National Theatre, a fantastic initiative which has been going since 2003 where almost half the tickets for five plays in the Olivier Theatre are offered at just ?12 (the remainder at ?22 and ?32); in 2012, its tenth season, Travelex renewed their sponsorship for a further three years from 2013 to 2015.About National Theatre: Olivier Theatre
