To Kill a MockingbirdChristopher Sergel's adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning 'To Kill a Mockingbird' returns to the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre after its sell-out success last year. The production, which opened the season last year ends the theatre's 2014 season. When a small town is engulfed with racial injustice, it takes the courage of one man to disregard what's expected of him and stand for what's right. Atticus Finch is a lawyer who seeks the truth and is determined to prove the innocence of a black man wrongly accused. Finch's daughter, Scout a young girl progressing into adulthood fights for his honour but faces terrible circumstances as a result. However, the determination of the pair gives hope to other locals in the town. The story's strong themes of compassion and bravery have provided it with enduring popularity and have already proved to be a huge success in the idyllic setting of the open air theatre.
