The ceremonial event of the Tudor Pull is this year being replaced with a flotilla to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Held on a Sunday in the middle of May, the Tudor Pull is a ceremonial event for Thames Waterman's Cutters which is organised each year by the Thames Traditional Rowing Association. For 2012, as part of the four day weekend, the Queen will be riding from Putney to Tower Bridge in a Thames sailing barge which has been temporarily modified to impersonate an 18th century royal galley. The course will be brimming with boats of all stripes including military, private, royal and the public, resulting in 30,000 people floating down the river alongside the Queen. Then with more than a million populating the side lines; there will be fireworks and music to firmly establish the celebratory day.
About Tower Of London
