Set on the eve of the Great War, Valley of Song, Ivor Novello's musical is a homage to his homeland, Wales. Staged at the Finborough Theatre as part of THEGREATWAR100 series, a new programme of works presented between 2014 and 2018 to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, the play tells the story of choirmaster David and his love for Lily, his leading soprano who is given an opportunity to sing in Venice and become an international star. Directed by Benji Sperring who recently directed 'The Blind and The Intruder' which received an Off West End Award nomination for best design.

About Finborough Theatre

The Finborough Theatre in Earls Court punches well above its weight, presenting award-winning plays and works by new writers in a small theatre above a pub. Founded in 1980, the Finborough has just 50 seats creating an intimate space for its productions which focus on developing new writing, rediscovering neglected works and presenting the best of the old and new in an eclectic programme.
