Hobnob with A-List celebrities on the red carpet at the 57th annual Variety Club Showbiz Awards at the plush Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. Last year, the likes of James McAvoy, Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Michael Caine and Al Pacino picked up awards at what is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the UK showbiz calendar. Celebrating its diamond anniversary, the awards raises money for The Variety Club Children's Charity, the UK's oldest charity for sick, disables and disadvantaged children. So, while tickets are on the expensive side, you can rest assured that it's all for a good cause. Besides, these celebrity-filled parties with their free booze always spark a few interesting stories, not to mention odd acceptance speech - plus its reassuring to see that even the rich and famous are capable of making a serious fashion faux-pas (not Keira Knightley, of course, who, in our eyes, can do no wrong).
