Though The Vortex has lost a little of its ramshackle charm in the relocation from Stoke Newington to Dalston, it remains the epitome of an underground jazz bar, with a crowd even more eccentric than the musicians on stage and an atmosphere that is thoroughly welcoming - so long as you're there for the music.
