This project at the Barbican Art Gallery aims to show just how central animation is to contemporary global culture. A team of expert advisors are helping to put together the content, and the exhibition will cover every period of animation - from Snow White to Lord of the Rings - and look in-depth at the techniques used, from stop-motion to modern digital animation. As well as short films and extracts from feature films there will be selected looks at the component parts of great animation - including puppets, stage sets, background paintings, wireframe visualisations, cel and background images. This exhibition definitely promises to be a treat for real animation enthusiasts or curious beginners. About Barbican Art Gallery
