We Love Steam! London Transport Museum Depot ActonThe annual spring weekend at the London Transport Museum Depot in Acton, one of the few occasions when the west London depot is open to the public, is part of the 150th London underground anniversary celebrations in 2013. The We Love Steam! weekend gives train and Tube enthusiasts and families a chance to ride on a carefully restored vintage steam train and on a miniature railway. There's a Lego version of the Baker Street Underground station in 1863, curator led tours, film screenings, workshops, talks, book signings and family fun sessions - and children under 16 go free. It's also a rare opportunity to explore the Museum's treasures - some 400,000 of them - which are usually hidden from public view.

About London Transport Museum Depot

The Museum Depot in Acton, only open to the public on special occasions, houses the majority of London Transport Museum's collections which cannot be displayed at the main museum in Covent Garden. Opens to the public for special events and themed open weekends, the Museum Depot houses over 400,000 items, including many original artworks and the Museum's collection of over 5,000 posters and artworks, vehicles, signs, models, plans, maps, photographs, film, video and uniforms.
