Commemorating the First World War, English Heritage presents We Will Remember Them: London's Great War Memorials at The Quadriga Gallery, inside Wellington Arch. The exhibition looks at six London Great War memorials, including Cenotaph on Whitehall and the profoundly moving Royal Artillery Memorial.

 

About Wellington Arch

A landmark triumphal arch set opposite the Duke of Wellington's residence at Apsley House, Wellington Arch was built in 1830 to commemorate the victories won by Britain in the Napoleonic wars. Though the arch remains, dominating Hyde Park Corner, sadly the unfeasibly huge equestrian figure of the 'Iron Duke' was removed from the top of the arch in 1882. More about Wellington Arch
