Broom sticks, cackles and cauldrons tend to only make an appearance in day to day life at Halloween; however the Vestry House Museum is giving visitors the chance to explore the real tales of witchery at their Witch Hunt Exhibition. Even though today the typical portrayal of a witch is fictional, the persecution of so witches is in fact a true story. This exhibition digs deep into the history and uncovers the truth about the East Anglian witch hunt that took place between 1645 and 1647.
About Vestry House Museum
Vestry House Museum, originally built as a workhouse in 1730, holds a wide range of objects on the history of Waltham Forest. There is a reconstructed Victorian parlour, a police cell, domestic life gallery, and exhibits on local crafts and industry housed in the Grade II listed former workhouse.
