Women of the World FestivalThe Women of the World Festival (WOW) returns to the Southbank Centre for its fifth year this March, coinciding with International Women's Day on 8th March. Originally launched by Jude Kelly, Southbank Centre's Artistic Director, following the criticisms she received as a woman new to the role, it celebrates "the formidable power of women to make change happen". Spread across five days, WOW incorporates live music, films, comedy, theatre and poetry alongside debates, talks, networking, mentoring and workshops. This year's programme includes Caitlin Moran, journalist and author of 'How to Be a Woman', who is in Conversation with Friends on Saturday 7th March 2015, and Mirth Control, hosted by Sandi Toksvig who welcomes Sarah Millican and Sharon D. Clarke to the Royal Festival Hall stage on Sunday 8th March 2015.

About Southbank Centre

London's hub of cultural arts, The Southbank Centre announced in March 2013 that it's set for a £100 million revamp that will see the 1960s design finally move into the 21st century with a proposal that includes a floating glass pavilion, two more roof gardens, a space for riverside arts and a large pedestrian area.
