Working Class HeroesThis weekend, BFI Southbank celebrates working class talent with one day of conversations and live events that pay tribute to the modern actors and filmmakers who built their careers without contracts or cheque books. The likes of Lesley Manville, Asif Kapadia, Johnny Harris, Naomi Ackie, Craig Parkinson and Phil Davis will discuss their careers and offer guidance while other events include panel discussions on what it means to be working class in 21st-century Britain and live events with representatives from leading drama schools and a number of casting directors and industry decision makers.

About BFI Southbank

Originally the National Film Theatre, the BFI Southbank is the perfect film buff's cinema, with three large screens and a smaller studio space showing up to 2000 films a year ranging from classics to independent movies as well as gala openings. It's also the heart of London's many film festivals, and the place to go to see obscure arts films, classics, and seasons of works by great directors. More about BFI Southbank
