Parson's Green doesn't have much in the way of food shops - no big supermarket chains have penetrated the side streets around the leafy green as yet. So this one-of-everything store can be a life saver if you've forgotten that essential ingredient. Delicious fresh salads include imaginative mixes such as grilled vegetables with tahini and crème fraiche, spears of asparagus with flaked Scottish salmon, lemon and capers or Tunisian inspired aubergine & chick peas. Produce includes free-range options and reliable staples such as fish cakes. At the butcher's counter, pork and herb sausages, calves liver and all types of game are on the butcher's block in the winter months including in-season grouse, snipe, wild duck and venison. The good thing about this place is you can stock up on an entire meal - so while you can get your calves liver you can also buy sage leaves to really bring out the flavour and accompany it with goat's cheese in filo pastry as a starter.
