Selling sought after, limited edition clothes, bags and accessories A Bathing Ape - aka BAPE - is part of a Japanese urban street wear phenomenon. When something from Britain is 'big in Japan' it normally spells short-lived success for some dreadful band - however when things come the other way it pays to take notice. Despite their questionable taste in music the Japanese are still achingly stylish. A Bathing Ape started up in Tokyo over 10 years ago. Producing only limited runs of brilliantly designed, well made t-shirts and not even putting signs on their shops they soon became the epitome of chic. Now in London and New York their stock continues to rise.
