Best known for its nose-to-tail meat dishes served up in the restaurant, St John has also run a bakery since it began here in 1994. So you can get freshly baked goods and pies as well as pigs' trotters. The bakery expanded in 1999 to include wine, with the biblical sounding name of St. John Bread and Wine. St John co-owners Trevor Gulliver and Fergus Henderson focus on French wines and initially set up this alcoholic arm of the business to serve the restaurant and private clients. Now they supply fellow restaurants and Joe Public with exclusive bottles that perfectly complement their food philosophy. So they must be good.
