Alan Cristea Gallery is the largest publisher and dealer of artists' prints and editions in Europe. Set up by Alan Cristea, who brings with him twenty years' experience as director of Waddington Galleries (just down the road at number 11), he has been running the gallery at 31 Cork Street since he bought Waddington Graphics in 1995. Since then the gallery has grown into the largest dealer and publisher of 20th-century and contemporary prints in Europe showing works by artists like Julian Opie, Gillian Ayres, Howard Hodgkin and David Hockney. Not just a place for prints, the gallery regularly exhibits paintings, works on paper, lightboxes and installations. The gallery has now spilled over to include the space at 34 Cork Street and both were newly refurbished in 2007.
