This exhibition of medieval facsimile brasses is organised as a workshop with staff on hand to help visitors make their own rubbings. The centre is situated inside a historic church founded in AD675. An arch from the original church remains. Beneath the arch is a Roman pavement which was discovered in 1926 and is evidence of city life on this site for the best part of 2000 years. Brasses available for rubbing vary in size and cost and are usually available from 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. There is also a gift shop with unusual historic items for sale.
