Cecil Sharp House, the purpose-built home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, is an impressive 1930's listed building with three halls and various rooms which can also be hired for private functions. It's conveniently close to Camden Town and within easy walking distance of Regents Park and Primrose Hill. Not surprisingly, given the dance society it permanently houses, there are some fantastic dance floor; all three halls come with sprung floors. The largest, Kennedy Hall, is a good space with plenty of natural light, wood panelling, double storey ceiling and the celebrated Ivon Hitchens mural spanning the 65ft length of the hall. It also houses the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, named in honour of the composer, song collector and President of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, Ralph Vaughan Williams, who died in 1958.
