A short walk from Chislehurst station (regularly served by trains from London Bridge and Charing Cross) lurks this amazing subterranean maze of caves. The results of 8000 years of digging, these dark mysterious passageways are over 20 miles long and were originally carved out in the search for flint and chalk.
Visitors to the caves are led around the labyrinth by lamplight, escorted by experienced guides. Among many of the underground delights are The Caves Church, Druid Altar and Haunted Pool.
Facilities include a gift shop, restaurant and ample parking. Evening group tours, children's tours, and specialist speakers can be arranged.
The entrance to the caves is in Caveside Close, near the Bickley Arms public house.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
