A church rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren, approximately 1680, in the Gothic style after it was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. It is, in fact, the only surviving Wren church in the City of London built in the Gothic style. Particular features include plaster fan-vault ceiling, wood carving and stained glass. The windows date mainly from the early 1950s and replace the Victorian stained glass windows shattered by the air raids of 1940-41.
