Johnson's house is an early 18th-century residence with some interesting furniture and a collection of portrait prints of the man himself and his circle of friends. There is also some fine, original Virginia pine panelling and a staircase, and the garret workroom where Johnson compiled his dictionary. The first edition of Dr Johnson's Dictionary is also housed here.
