Created in 1832, this is the oldest of London's 'magnificent seven' nineteenth century cemetries. It's a lovely spot, with many fine tombstones and chapels. There are over 250,000 Londoners buried here, including Freddie Mercury, Isambard Kingdon Brunel, Charles Babbage, Anthony Trollope, William Makepeace Thackeray and Wilkie Collins.
