The current Kew Bridge has been replaced and improved two times since it was first built in 1757. The first was made from wood and the second from Portland and Purbeck stone.
The majestic structure we see today was opened by Edward VII in 1903 and is made out of granite from Aberdeen and Cornwall. It is adorned with the colourful coats of arms of these two counties and has three sweeping arches reaching across the river.
