This national museum shows the impact the British Army has had on the story of Britain, Europe and the world, from 1066 through to the present day. There are extensive displays on the two World Wars and unrivalled collections relating to the Victorian period and the Battle of Waterloo. Exhibits at this museum next to the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home to the Chelsea pensioners, include 30 Victoria Crosses, Florence Nightingale's jewellery, the skeleton of Napoleon's horse and a large section of the Berlin Wall. There is also an interactive gallery on the modern British Army and a range of changing exhibitions, events and children’s activities. A visit to the National Army Museum shows how Britain’s past has helped to shape the country's present and future.
