Built around 1250, this the oldest Catholic Church in London and one of a very few surviving buildings from the reign of Edward I. Originally a Chapel from 1250 to 1570, it became a Catholic church in 1874, but in the interim it had served as a prison, a hospital and even a tavern. The church walls are inset with statues of martyrs and there are some beautiful examples of stained-glass.
