One of Sir Christopher Wren's smaller masterpieces, this church has been immaculately restored. The central altar is by Henry Moore, and there is a magnificent organ with recitals on Friday from 12:30 to 13:30 (admission is free).

St Stephen's was also the birthplace of The Samaritans, hence the telephone in a glass box which can be found within the church. This is a tribute to the Rector, Prebendary Dr Chad Varah, who founded the voluntary organisation for people in emotional need.
