Taking up 12 acres, London City Island is a neighbourhood in East London, a 'mini Manhattan' with a red bridge linking the island to Canning Town. Made up of 1,145 new build homes, independent artisan restaurants, shops, and al fresco spaces used to show public art, City Island offers residents access to a private resident's club with screening room, gym, concierge service and a striking vibrant red swimming pool. A short distance from Canning Town and adjoining Trinity Buoy Wharf, in late 2017 The London Film School moves to City Island and come 2018 it will also be home to English National Ballet and its associated English National Ballet School - you'll be able to watch rehearsals through the floor-to-ceiling windows and from the communal ground-floor space, which has a café and shop. The apartments themselves, designed by Glenn Howells Architects, have a warehouse aesthetic, with open plan living spaces and loft style features which draw design features from the history of the surrounding Leamouth area.
