Just off Carnaby Street this historic Grade II listed pub dates back to 1736 and the interior looks like it hasn't been changed since the 1960s - a time when the Beatles used to hold meetings with their managers here, or so local legend has it. There are a few Blue Post pubs in the area so if you're arranging to meet friends here make sure you know which one you've agreed on. The popular choice of name may be explained by the history of the area - before street numbering one way of making your house stand out from the others was painting a part of it. Blue painted posts were popular in the West End - they were used to advertise a fleet of sedan chairs available for hire.
