Probably East London's only Scandinavian-influenced rock and roll bar, The Pipeline promises you a free-for-all vibe with zero electronic music and "the happiest place in London". Located between Liverpool Street tube and Brick Lane in what was once The Old Monk bar, this huge venue (spread out over two floors with live bands often performing downstairs) is a real smorgasbord of fun and games, with pool, pinball and a jukebox all starring alongside a well-stocked bar offering the very latest Nordic tipples (as well as the regular, closer-to-home lagers, wines and cocktails). You'd be best advised to expect the unexpected in The Pipeline - and the bar menu is no different. Small dishes include fish-finger sandwiches, feta cheese salad with humus, jacket potatoes with skagen (shimps, onion, dill and mayonnaise) and curly chips. Mains include Swedish meatballs and hot dogs, sirloin steak with Swedish potatoes, burgers, pork chops or smoked salmon pasta. The owner promises to attract a variety of "bums, punks, hipsters, bohemians, rockabilly greasers, regular Joes, passers-by and madding stereotypes". All in all, The Pipeline should be quite an interesting place to visit.Opening and closing times for The Pipeline
