A refurbished and relaunched gastro-pub located in the heart of Hammersmith, The Thatched House promises to bring a touch of country life to West London. Head chef Jimi promises "rustic home cooked British food" and with an impressive menu filled with hearty classics such as sausage and mash with red onion gravy and lamb shoulder pie, it's hard to disagree. The exterior of this Young's pub used to stand out for its garish coats of paint - bright yellow and a red-pink combo to name but two - but the new owners have gone with a toned down dark-blue-and-white look. With roasting log fires and mulled wine aplenty, The Thatched House is certainly a cosy place during the cold winter months. And with a "secret" beer garden round the back and a sleek terrace, it promises to be pretty welcoming during the summer as well - especially with Ravenscourt Park just around the corner.
