The 1 Lombard Street has four function rooms; the largest can hold a maximum of 450 guests, the smallest is ideal for 30.
1 Lombard Street was once a banking hall, something that is reflected in the wealthy City types who pack out its plush back dining room. There's an excellent, uncomplicated brasserie and bar at the front, but it is the back room that impresses. The large bellies of its clientele are catered to by a menu that relies on the richest of ingredients - lobster, turbot, scallops, suckling pig and weighty cuts of roast beef make up most of the menu, and even the vegetarian option is currently a weighty risotto. Though there are some fiddly, overcomplicated moments on the tasting menu, chef Herbert Berger has avoided the fussiness of much Michelin-starred food, with a French-inflected style and impressively consistent high standards.1 Lombard Street images
