In the two theatre spaces - the Barbican Theatre and the Pit - you can enjoy everything from gritty reality to far-flung fantasy, from dance to drama, from established artists to those at the start of their careers. One of the country's largest arts centres, the distinctive concrete walls of the Barbican continue to house high quality theatrical productions. For years the Barbican was the London base of the RSC and the annual BITE programme is always packed with exciting, unexpected and intriguing offerings, incorporating everything from cabaret to classical.
