Hammersmith Club
Nearby
Formally known as the Mansion House or Kent House, the newly formed Hammersmith Club has history dating back to 1762. There are two great bay-windows at the front and several fine rooms within, full of interesting detail with pilasters, arcading, and tinted or marbled panels. The drawing-room has a good plaster ceiling, panelled walls and a carved chimney-piece surrounded by Siena marble. The main staircase, which is curved, is a striking example of an interior from the latter part of the 18th century. The unique space on the Lower Mall by Hammersmith Bridge is a great multi-purpose venue for events, parties and receptions. With a 7 by 4 metre stage and VIP mezzanine area overlooking the dance floor, the club is suitable for corporate events, private functions and celebrations.
