The Royal Geographical Society has eight function rooms; the largest can hold a maximum of 750 guests, the smallest is ideal for 16.
For the past two centuries this old-fashioned 'learned society' has sent explorers and adventurers all over the world. Famous names from Mungo Park to Captain Scott, David Livingstone to Ernest Shackleton, have all been members of the Royal Geographical Society. Established in 1830 to promote geographical science, what started as a dining club is now the largest and most active of the scholarly geographical societies with 15,000 members. Regular events and lectures are held at the society's headquarters, in a beautiful old building next to the Royal Albert Hall, hosted by well known experts in the field, taking a break from their explorations.Ondaatje Theatre
