Venue hire at Southwark Cathedral

Hire this venue for your own event - it has seven function rooms the largest of which can hold a maximum of 480 guests and the smallest is ideal for 10.

Dating back to around 1220 Southwark Cathedral is the oldest Gothic church in London. It has a varied and lively history and houses interesting memorials connected with the Elizabethan theatres of Bankside. There are monuments to Edmund Shakespeare, (the famous playwright's brother) and dramatists John Fletcher and Philip Massinger. A chapel commemorates
John Harvard, benefactor of Harvard University, and there are regular
choral services allowing the cathedral's fine Lewis Organ to display
its magnificence. 'The Long View of London' exhibition is a permanent
feature housed in the former Chapter House buildings. It traces the
history of Southwark via the changing view recorded through centuries
from the top of the cathedral tower. A long tradition of choral music continues to this day in the
cathedral's fine choir and with regular performances of the great
choral works.
