A second branch of this cheery and uncomplicated US Diner sensibly keeps the formula just the same as the original Shoreditch branch, with a short menu of smoky and protein-rich American favourites, and a dining room that emphasises comfort and informality. It's not quite as gut-bustingly calorific as its immediate rival Bodeans, but this is definitely not a place for anyone with ambitions to be size zero. Burgers, chillies, burritos and tacos are the staple diet, presented with an enthusiasm and charm that is all American - though the occasionally slowness of the service is less authentic. The cooking is impressively consistent (and there are dozens of miserable Tex-Mex joints in London that testify how tricky this apparently simple formula can be), and the prices very reasonable for this part of town.Location map of The Diner Soho
