A rare surviving example of an early 19th century cinema to a ballroom, t he 1950's Rivoli Ballroom is one of the oldest ballrooms in London and still serves that purpose plus a whole lot more besides. Some nights it's a jive lesson with a live band, others there are themed film screenings while the regular ballroom and Latin dance nights on Saturdays are always popular. The Grade II ballroom itself is full of history and character with its theatrical interior dating back to 1958. T here's a shabby chic charm and community feel to the place. At special cinema screenings - for Halloween and Valentine's Day, for example - snacks and drinks are available at the well stocked bar manned by friendly, helpful staff.
