Open the menu at Alan Yau's cheap Chinese noodle restaurant, Cha Cha Moon, and the first thing you'll notice is the price - everything is a ridiculously reasonable ?3.50. Yau has taken the Wagamama concept he first came to fame with - the canteen communal tables, the affordable food, served fast - and added the slick design style of his Michelin level restaurants Hakkasan and Yauatcha. Though he's since sold off these earlier ventures with Cha Cha Moon Yau continues his one man mission to shape the way Londoners eat. This time the food straight from the street. Choose from three types of noodle - soup, lao main or wok fried - and you won't even need to order a side. Whether the low, uniform price is a start-up gimmick or not it certainly seems to be drawing the crowds. Fret not, the queue moves quickly and you can watch the pink tinted chefs buzzing about on the other side of the coloured glass while you wait. All this for ?3.50, you can't argue with that.
