Amazonico in Madrid is a favourite with celebrities and socialites and the London restaurant, located on well-to-do Berkeley Square, attracts the same sort of crowd. Owned by husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco - two of Madrid's best-known restauranteurs - Amazonico brings all the flavours of Latin America to the table, from traditional Brazilian dishes (like sea bream cooked on espeto and barbequed over a hot fire) to Peruvian sushi - served at a dedicated counter. Lush interiors are extravagantly decorated with peacocks p erched on the bar, chosen by artist Lazaro Rosa-Violan who has used natural wood and terracotta to capture the rainforest feel. Jazz is played live every evening and as dusk turns to dark the lounge is filled with 'elec-tropical' sounds and Latin American tunes from the resident DJ. If you're booking for a party, the 2 0-person rainforest-themed private dining room is the place to go with ferns and flora covering everything from the walls to the seats.
