Popular Portuguese restaurant and wine bar Bar Douro, which has been serving classics like salt cod hash and garlic gambas at its Flat Iron Square home since it opened in November 2016, expands to a second site in 2019, this time in the new 1 Finsbury Avenue development at Broadgate. Both restaurants are brought to you by Max Graham who spent his childhood in Porto - his father set up Churchill's Port and his family has been producing wine in the Douro Valley for over two centuries. At Bar Douro City, located in a Grade II-listed building, design features include hand-painted Portuguese tiles, a marble counter from Aveiro and a traditional mosaic floor of hand-cut stone. Seating for 44 is at Olaio bar stools and chairs, positioned alongside the bar and throughout, or you can sit outside on the sheltered outdoor terrace with a glass of something dry from the all-Portuguese wine list while overlooking Broadgate, the largest pedestrianised neighbourhood in central London.
